Writer

From Wikialpha

A writer is someone who communicates ideas via the use of written words, which may be done in a variety of ways and styles. Different kinds of literary art and creative writing are produced by writers, such as novels, short stories, books, poetry, travelogues, plays, screenplays, teleplays, songs, and essays. They also produce other reports and news articles that may be of interest to the general public, such as newspaper articles and magazine articles. Texts written by authors are published in a variety of mediums. The cultural richness of a society is often enhanced by the work of skilled writers who are able to effectively communicate their thoughts via language.[1]

Although the word "writer" is also used in other contexts in the arts and music – for example, as a composer or a screenplay - the term "writer" as a standalone noun relates to the production of written language. Some authors get inspiration from oral traditions.

Writers may create content in a variety of genres, whether fictional or non-fictional in nature. Other authors use a variety of mediums – such as graphics or illustration – to improve the transmission of their ideas. Another new demand has arisen from civil and government readers for the work of non-fictional technical writers, whose abilities enable them to produce intelligible, interpretative texts of a practical or scientific nature that are easy to comprehend and follow. Some authors may choose to supplement their work with visuals (drawings, paintings, graphics, etc.) or multimedia. In a few rare cases, creative authors are able to convey their thoughts not just via words, but also through music.
