Early life and education
Devi Shetty was born in Bangalore, India. He graduated with a degree in Medicine from the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences in Hubli. He then went to the United States for further training in cardiac surgery, where he worked under Dr. Michael DeBakey, a pioneer in cardiac surgery.
Career
After returning to India, Shetty established himself as a leading cardiac surgeon. In 2001, he founded Narayana Health (formerly Narayana Hrudayalaya) with the aim of providing affordable healthcare to the masses. Under his leadership, the hospital chain grew rapidly, offering advanced medical treatments at significantly lower costs compared to other hospitals.
